I was fortunate enough to be part of the installation piece Royale made for the Chiat\LA\Music\Fest Royale designed and built an impressive 7 foot-wide crown of wood, metal, and printed pieces from the staff artists. My contribution was an illustrated pattern of bespectacled eyes. More info on the project.

KALEIDOSCOPE

A multichromatic journey to freedom. The intercut stories of an oppressed male typist, a growing seed in a glass cube, and a lab monkey whose only wish is to swim with the fish.

Kaleidoscope is a personal short film project I’m directing. This experimental character-based narrative film revolves around the idea of constriction vs. freedom and slices together three simple story lines with a mix of both 2D hand-drawn and stylized 3D animation. Although the film is still “in production”, I want to release a few in-progress clips from the Monkey Story.

GNOMUS is an animated piece commissioned by the New World Symphony to be projected and synced with a live orchestral performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. It was designed specifically for the New World Center’s five sail-like screens. The New World Center opened in Miami FL at the end of January 2011 and is the newest building by architect Frank Gehry. Gnomus, along with the other 13 animated movements of Pictures at an Exhibition, was projected and performed at the Grand Opening Gala event.
